Profiles in no particular order or preference

Ugandan born Geoffrey is the CEO and founder of GKK Migration Services in Sydney helping so many struggling African asylum seekers to process visas for over three decades. He is co-founder of a Health Education Centre in Uganda.

Living Legend 2018

Born in DRC, Ruffin has contributed to the upliftment of the African community through his work with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. He also has a Master's in International Trade and Diplomacy.

Academic Excellence Award 2018

A Nigerian born, broadcast journalist, with 15 years of experience in production, presentation and news-casting in both radio and television. She is currently the producer and presenter of “BLACRHYTHMS SHOW” on 93.7 FM station.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Matthias is co-founder of the EdFin Group that provides short term loans to international students. He has a Master of Taxation

 in Taxation and Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Community Support (EdFin Group)

Esther works for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as an Actuary in life insurance. She has a Masters in Economics and a double degree Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics. She also mentors high school students.

Champion Award 2018

Kenya born Loise has a Diploma in Nursing and works with NSW Health at Blacktown hospital. She is also an Assistant Secretary at KISWA and a member of Swahili Mass. She is a leader of Women Empowerment Sydney.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

Born and raised in Kenya. Isaac has a Bachelor of Information Technology Business Systems and he is Chairman of Kenyans In Sydney Welfare Association (KISWA). Also Director of Programs for Great Lakes Agency for Peace and Development (GLAPD).

Community Engagement Award 2018

Rahab is a pivotal player in the Kenyan community of NSW known for promoting events and  networking. She is currently studying Bachelors in Psychological Science and Criminology. She is also a serving member of KISWA.

Ethiopian/Aussie Destiny is the 2018 Miss Junior Diamond queen.

She is an Australian Athletics Medalist, Hip Hop Dancer Gold Champion and the 2018 Junior Parliament Member. She is also an advocate for youth trauma victims.

Young African Achiever 2018

She is a role model to other girls in the way she conducts herself in the community. She is involved with various projects and is helpful to others especially the elderly. She has completed Diploma in Laboratory Technology

Inspiration Personality Award 2018

Born in Lesotho, Jackie currently runs various projects for African women and girls in NSW Western Sydney. She has a real concern and desire to see women empowered and uplifted. She mentors young mothers and girls through various programs.

Community Engagement Award 2018

He has been making waves on the music scene both local and international of late. Bock Man Pas Man recently released his "Country Flag EP in Sydney, Australia which is currently streaming on all music platforms worldwide.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

A Nigerian born business mogul and a pacesetter in fashion and styles, Angela Asemota is the CEO of Bag`s World and Clothing lines in Australia. A serial entrepreneur with many shops in different locations in Australia

Entrepreneurship Award 2018

Another product of Sydney that has owned the music platform in Australia and across the world.. Daniel has performed with various international artists and produced big hits that have had a huge viewership on YouTube

Professional Excellence 2017

London born Yoruba woman, Ttobie has a post graduate certificate in Digital Marketing and a Master degree in Sustainability from the University of Sydney. She has served as executive on various women groups of NSW.

Community Engagement Award 2017

Noel is current president of the Rwanda Community of NSW. He is also an academic and author, a rare combination of skills that have seen him rub shoulders with politicians and many great people in NSW.

Moisema is currently an Intensive Support Case Manager working with CORE Community Services in Sydney. He is the CEO and founder of Aus Talent and Lib Comedy, that enables the youths to showcase their hidden talents.

Mengedie was born in Sierra Leone and moved to Australia in 2005. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in engaging the Sierra Leone community in NSW through games, sports and other events

Another enterprising and inspirational African Australian from Kenya. Julia hosts the famous online radio show “Down Under Radio,” in Sydney. She has hosted many outstanding African Australians during the “Authentic Women” show.

Professional Excellence Award 2017

Born in Sierra Leone, Isha is involved in promoting entertainment, fundraising, music, film and other events within the African community in Sydney. She is an established personality famous for engaging the African community in NSW.

Community Engagement Award 2017

One of the few African Australians that has promoted one of Africa languages into main stream media. Gode currently works for SBS Radio managing the Swahili programme on air. He has interviewed so many African Australians.

Born in Sierra Leone DJ Big Up is one of the most sought after DJ's in Sydney and NSW at large. With over ten years of experience, he amazes his audience with his antics that keep them grooving every weekend.  

Entertainment Award 2017

From his humble background in Burundi, John-Kay is a living testimony that Australia is a land of opportunities. He has produced and directed many eye-catching movies with the hottest one Cops Enemy that premiered 2017.

One of the most hardworking African Australians Down Under. He excels in all his professional work and loves to help other members of the community. He has taken on community leadership serving in different roles.

Community Engagement Award 2018

Andrew was born in Nigerian. A business acumen who has dominated the music business in NSW as the CEO of the Electric Heads Music label. His passion and dedication saw him scoop the AAMA award in 2014.

Fr. Alex is a co-founder of the Shukrani Foundation, a charity organisation that helps youngsters in the impoverished suburbs of Kenya to gain access to education and also participate in poverty alleviation projects.

Humanitarian Award 2017

Charmaine is an award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and screenwriter She is a competent vocalist and guitarist and  has performed on stage with superstars like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Rachel Platten and Jessica Mauboy.

Talent Award 2016

Since arriving in Australia in the 90’s, Jane Rose took in and helped new settlers establish themselves in Sydney. She has been a caseworker and also an interpreter working with various government departments. She is founder member of the Rwanda Community.

Living Legend Award 2016

Moses is a specialist physician who was awarded a PhD by the University of Sydney for a doctoral thesis entitled “The role of Donor Specific Antibodies in Chronic Allograft Nephropathy” which studied the effects of donor antibodies in kidney transplants.

Bertrand is a veteran broadcaster and content producer for SBS radio since 1998. He is a contributor to 3 different programs: African, French and Living Black Radio (for Indigenous and Torres Straight Island communities).

Nadine is a Medical Doctor, a Public Health Specialist and a community leader.

She holds a Bachelor degree in General Medicine and a double master’s degree of Public Health and Health Management. She is founder of GLAPD Int.

Martha is a palliative pediatrician, a champion for terminally ill children who has conducted extensive research in pediatric care with 26 years of medical experience. She has a Masters of Medicine (Pediatrics) - University of Melbourne

A “Born musician “ in KweKwe, Zimbabwe, Simba is the director and lead singer of Echoes of African Music. With a very strong passion for music, Simba also teaches traditional African Instruments to children..

Community Engagement Award 2018

Authored “The Five Anchors of Cyber Resilience”, a contemporary strategy book that absorbs the complexity associated with cyber security and passes on practical guidance to business leaders. The  book instantly became an Amazon Best Seller.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

Simba is a Zimbabwean native with a Master of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a co-founder and Chair of Ignition Impact, an angel investor network focused on facilitating small private equity and debt investments.

Community Support (OAA Study)

She is Kenyan born and has a PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Wollongong. Rhoda’s research was on salt reduction for overall health especially blood pressure and she continues to work towards that in her current employment

Academic Excellence Award 2018

Originally from Sierra Leone, Fatmanta is Young Australian of the year award winner. She has a Medical Science degree from Macquarie University. She is also a Member and sponsor of Kanga Schools in Sierra Leone

Academic Excellence Award 2018

She is founder of Beauties With Brain, an organisation helping girls in Sierra Leone to achieve a bright future. Juliet also works with the NSW Youth Development Program as youth ambassador for MYAN and volunteers for the Salvation Army.

Humanitarian Award 2018

An award-winning filmmaker and social worker born in Sierra Leone. She has written, directed and produced short films in various genres. Her film ‘I am Black and Beautiful’ won Best Short Documentary at the Montreal Black Film Festival.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

South Sudanese Arom is a self-driven and inspirational character with high determination to succeed in anything she does. She is an entrepreneur/ event organizer & promoter. She owns Legacy X Nightclub & Caribbean Vibes. 

Young African Achiever 2018

Born in Accra Ghana, Issaka began his professional Kick boxing career in 2006 while representing Ghana. He later on took on Boxing when he arrived in Sydney in 2014 and since then he has owned the ring with outstanding results.

Born Ethiopia Lily is a leading fashion designer with creative photo shoots and fashion show with models. In all her work, she promotes African fashion and designs in New South Wales and other states.

African Culture Promotion Award '18

Newly elected President of Rwandan Community of New South Wales; He is also an entrepreneur helping his community and others to strive for success. Board Member of New Hope International Ministries (NHIM).

Professional Excellence Award 2018

Vincent is a Kenyan Born Australian comedian who burst onto the comedy scene during the Melbourne amateur night. He has made his niche as one of the biggest comedians in the African Australians family.

Talent Award (Comedy) 2017

Rosemary is an African Woman of the Year Award Winner. She hosts countless African events and projects, including the famous African Women's Dinner Dance which attracts women across Australia to network, celebrate and dine every year.

Community Engagement Award 2017

Nigerian born with a passion for promoting African fashion, craft and culture, Ola holds a Master degree in International Relations. She is past Vice President of the Nigerian Association and runs her own Africa shop No.1 African Choice.

Entrepreneurship Award 2018

Moses is a youngster who has taken on the world of entertainment with a bang. He has a huge following playing the best Afro music in Sydney. Moses is known in the wider African community entertaining at numerous events.

Entertainment Award 2017

Mercy currently runs a charity, `This Life Foundation` which is supporting child-headed families in Northern Uganda. Mercy also supports a children`s home in Kenya called The Good Samaritan Children Home in Mathare slum in Nairobi.

Champion Award 2018

Growing up in war-torn Sudan, Abaker moved to Australia in 2003 and has since made a name for himself in the music industry. He is the architecture of the Street Dreams project in St Marys NSW.

Professional Excellence Award 2017

Experito is a talented Sydney-based youngster whose work in visual designs won him top accolades at Kogarah High school. He has the ability to paint and draw famous Australian and African landscapes with excellent immigration and contemplation.

Yong Talent Award 2015

Edith is one of the champions of women in NSW and has started her own company Ida Events. She engages African Australians through hosting events mainly targeting women like at the African Women's Dinner Dance.

Jennifer is the brain behind Glow Healthcare Agency, a Nursing agency founded in NSW 2016. GHA is a trusted provider of healthcare services located in Sydney and is managed by a team of experienced staff nursing and management.

Professional Excellence Award 2016

Born in Sierra Leonne, Bampia has made his passion for music known in Australia. He is a guest DJ in various states and embraces all occasions from birthday parties to massive gatherings.

Entertainment Award 2018

Kenyan born Consolata boasts numerous academic and social achievements. With a Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree (Psychology) at Australian Catholic University she has also received numerous local and international scholarships.

Inspirational Personality 2018

Charity is an outstanding African Australian who has over ten years of experience in general nursing. She is currently one of the most experienced and reliable Renal Nurse Practitioner in Renal Home Therapies at Liverpool Hospital.

Professional Excellence Award 2017

Beatrice has worked in the Community and Welfare Sector in NSW for fifteen years and currently works in local government as a community Development Officer. A Sierra Leone community leader, a women and girls advocate.

Community Engagement Award 2017

Considered a veteran in the NSW community services, Abulla continues to inspire and motivate other African Australians to join this important sector. Abulla is a currently a settlement Team Leader at SydWest Multicultural Services.

Professional Excellence Award 2017

Kenyan born Annastacia is the founding director of ‘Make it Happen’ Foundation with projects for children in Africa. She believes that every child deserves a family and a childhood and this is the core objective of her foundation.

Humanitarian Award 2016

Born in Nigeria, Kevin has owned the entertainment industry in NSW. Through his brand ‘The Box’ entertainment, Kevin has become an inspiration to many African Australians. His passion, determination and dedication can never go unnoticed.

Champion Award 2018

Born in Rwanda, Khadijah has been a youth ambassador for the African Women group since 2012. She is a mentor for the Rwandan youth group and a founding member of the African Council of Arts and Culture (ACAC).

Community Engagement Award 2015

Kenyan-born Mutuanene is author of a book entitled 'The Weather-Proof Salesman' available at amazon.com or the bookpal publishers. In the book he cites the issues newly arrived migrants face settling in any country and how to cope with them.

Professional Excellence Award 2015

The Rwanda Community NSW is one of the most vibrant among the African communities in Australia. They are remarkable for organizing events and projects that bring their members together and also connect with members from other communities.

Community Engagement Award 2016

Born of Zambia/Zimbabwe parents, Amanda is business owner of Amanda Mavunga Architects. She is manager of Airport design at Sydney domestic and International Airport. She also mentors women in business and young girls on education.

Champion Award 2018

Goodson has a great and very real affection for the people of Africa living in NSW. He is known for empowering and assisting asylum seekers, refugees and also African Students who come to Australia.

Community Engagement Award 2018

She is a Zimbabwean/Australian inter-disciplinary artist. With a lot of experience in writing, performance directing and producing. Alongside her personal practice, Moreblessing engages in a advocacy and consultancy work.

Professional Excellence Award 2018

CEO and Founder of Aussie Books for Zim, a charity that helps set up libraries  in remote rural schools in Zimbabwe. Alfred is based in Wollongong and is an inspirational mentor and leader for all Australians.

Humanitarian Award 2018

He is Kenyan born and has a Bachelor of Accounting. Stanley is one of the founders of Kenyans in Sydney Welfare Association (KISWA) and serves as secretary of the Association. He also works with GLAPD Int.

Community Engagement Award 2018

Her desire is to see people both raised up and empowered within the African communities in NSW. She is a champion of women and an advocate for women rights. She is also a mentor for young girls living in NSW.

Divine is a pioneer MC, DJ, radio personality originally from Cameroon & Nigeria. He is a well-known figure in the music industry and has recently released his album for 2018 with smash hits like Mammy Yoyo.

Nonnie is a finance and risk professional. A qualified CPA, with a Masters of Commerce specializing in Accounting from Macquarie University. She is also past president of African Professionals of Australia NSW (APA ).

Originally from Kenya, Abigail has a deep passion for visual arts, photography and film and hopes to become a Photojournalist or a Film Director in the near future. Her love for photography is always evident and can not go unnoticed.

Born in Kenya, Florence is a common face in the wider African community known for helping others especially mothers. She has previously served on the executive committee of Kenyans In Sydney Welfare Association (KISWA).

Born and bred in Ugandan, Ken is former Chairman of National Australia Bank’s African Australian Inclusion Program (AAIP) in NSW and works at NAB in the Financial Markets domain. He is current President of APA .

Tino is an Actor/Model proudly born and bred in Nigeria. With such a strong passion in film, Tino has already starred in various movies including Survive or Die (supporting Role) Australia,  Chaos of the gods (Lead) Nigeria,  and many others

Born in Ghana, Kwasi is an Australian actor and talk-show host. He is also a well-known MC in the African community who has hosted numerous events including the AMMA awards, musical concerts and comedy shows.

Rev. Navazu is a voice for those less fortunate than her and works tirelessly through her Organisations Nakango Vision and Agape Community Church to ensure Africans living in Australia feel integrated in their new country.

N'valaye is a professional boxer who kick started his career in 2008 as an amateur boxer before turning professional in 2016. He has hosted various fitness boot camps for African Australians and promoted many upcoming youngsters in the profession.

Moses is another enterprising African Australian who has excelled in engaging the African community as a Master of Ceremonies at various events. He is also an entrepreneur running a successful Photography business in Sydney.

Juliet is an African Australian originally from Zimbabwe. She works in the health sector of NSW specializing in community nursing. She has served on the executive of the African Women's Group Australia Association as Secretary.

King is another African Australian who has not disappointed in the music industry as a singer, songwriter and producer. He has made his presence felt in almost every state and territory in Australia hosting big live concerts.

Champion Award 2018

J A Y is a dynamic and virtuoso Gospel singer and songwriter. He is also a creative audio-visual designer, sound engineer, and the CEO of ‘Last Stop Media Production (LST). Through his profession, he engages the community at all fronts.

Top Achiever Award 2018

Hudu is the man behind the famous successful brand of African Feeling Restaurant in Sydney, Newtown that is a meeting place for Africans over the years. He is famous for his African cuisines that have been an attractions to all people including non-Africans.

Entrepreneurship Award 2018

Elvis is of Kenyan origin, an aspiring Public Health Specialist and a humanitarian leader. He has recently graduated with a double Majors Degree in Public Health and Epidemiology from Western Sydney University.

Professional Excellence Award 2017

Another uprising singer, songwriter and music producer who has taken over the music industry in style. Currency has produced hit songs that currently have a massive following on the YouTube. His budding profession is already glittering.

Originally from South Sudan, Clement has gained a lot of experience working in the community sector of NSW. He has spearheaded the African Settlement program, supporting newly arrived refugees settle in Western Sydney.

Beatrice moved to Australia in 2013 and straight away got involved in serving her community as secretary of the Kenyans in Sydney Welfare Association. She has also studied nursing and works in various aged care facilities across NSW.

Born in South Africa, Adam, is C0-Founder of Humanitix, the first not for profit ticketing company in the world dedicated to unlocking the philanthropic potential of every event and redistributing booking fees to charitable organisations around Australia.

Entrepreneurship Award 2017

Originally from Accra, Ghana, Afro Child a strong passion for music, a career he started at a tender age. He is one of those promising talents  to look out for in Sydney and has created his own original fusion of Afrobeat music.

Community Engagement Award 2015

Mamello is a proud African, born and raised in Lesotho. In 2015 she started a small business called La Mondz La Mondz that produces handmade 100% natural skin care and hair products specifically made for African skin and African hair

Entrepreneurship Award 2016

With over 15 years’ experience in Event Management, Melanie has managed and marketed hundreds of events including: product and venue launches, fashion shows, business award events, charity fundraisers, festivals, live music events and more.

Community Engagement Award 2016

Rouz promotes African culture and designs through her African shop ‘Dress Afrique’ that she manages in Sydney. She is also one of those kind hearted African Australians who has helped new arrivals establish themselves in NSW.

Ugandan born Susan is a Sydney-based Actress, Model, Fashion designer and stylist. She manages a fashion label ‘Suzan Mutesi’ which symbolizes structure and class and gives women of all body types the ability to feel confident, comfortable and beautiful.
