Living Legend Award 2016
Since arriving in Australia in the 90’s, Jane Rose took in and helped new settlers establish themselves in Sydney. She has been a caseworker and also an interpreter working with various government departments. She is founder member of the Rwanda Community.
Community Service Excellence 2016
CORE is a not for profit organisation in the South West Sydney area. CORE stands for the organization's values – Care, Opportunity, Respect and Empowerment. CORE runs a range of services that have benefited the African Australian community in South West Sydney and beyond.

Charmaine is an award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and screenwriter She is a competent vocalist and guitarist and has performed on stage with superstars like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Rachel Platten and Jessica Mauboy.
Entrepreneurship Award 2016
Mamello is a proud African, born and raised in Lesotho. In 2015 she started a small business called La Mondz La Mondz that produces handmade 100% natural skin care and hair products specifically made for African skin and African hair
Friends of Africa Award 2016
Julia Dorothy Finn is a darling to the African Australian community in NSW. Ever since her election as member for Granville in 2015, Julia has graced various functions hosted by the African Australian community and she has supported various projects services for the same community.
Projects in Africa
Bankstown District Cricket Club (BDCC) supports Ugandan Cricket Association with cricket gear since 2005. This good gesture started when one of the members of the BDCC saw Uganda Cricket national team players sharing equipment while participating in a high profile International Cricket Council (ICC) match in 2005. The side has been sending cricket gear to Uganda.
